Alan Sherrell Price, 67, of Ranger, WV, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Sherrell was born January 9, 1947 in Ranger, WV. His father, Harold Price, preceded him in death on December 25, 2011. He is survived by his mother Pauline Dyer Price, his loving and devoted wife of 46 years LaDonna Porter Price, both of Ranger, WV, and his son David Alan Price of Charleston, WV. He is also survived by his sister Arema Tomblin and her husband Keith of Ranger, WV. Additional survivors include brother-in-law Harold and Belle Porter, sister-in-laws Anita and Jerry Barnhill, Regina and Jeff King, and Teresa Renae and Terry Woodrum. Nieces and nephews Brian Tomblin and Pam Davis of Kiahsville and Amy and Terry Adkins of Alum Creek, WV. Great-niece Aubry Adkins and great-nephew Austin Adkins of Alum Creek, WV.
Sherrell is retired from NI-Source Corp. (formally Columbia Gas) and is a member and Trustee of Ranger United Baptist Church. He is also a member of Hamlin Lodge #79 A.F. and A.M., member of the Board of Directors at Guyan River Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion Post 111, Hamlin, WV.
Services will be conducted Friday September 26, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Ranger United Baptist Church, Ranger, WV. Burial will follow at the Sanders Cemetery, Ranger, WV where there will be Masonic and Military graveside services. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday at McGhee Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV.
