Alden E. Hager 83, of Midkiff, WV passed away Wednesday January 25, 2017 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 29, 1933 a son of the late Dewitt and Gracie Hoosier Hager. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, and retired from water well drilling and Special Metals. He was an avid supporter of the NRA, and loved the outdoors watching the birds and deer. He loved going to church and was a member of Midkiff Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruby Dillon Hager, and a daughter Cherrie Nichols.
He is survived by his children, Charlotte Zephir, Romona Moore, both of Lewiston, IN, Vicky Stevens of Midkiff, WV, Todd Hager of Westerville, OH; the sunshine of his life, his great granddaughter Lory Brooke, special great granddaughter Kaylee Lynn whom he called his “rat”; brother Edsel Hager of Hamlin; sister, Betty Hager of West Hamlin; many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday January 29, 2017 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Paul Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin, WV, with Military Graveside Rites by American Legion Post 111 of Hamlin, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Sunday.
