Algie Jeffrey Jr., 84, of Lake, entered into his heavenly rest on November 9, 2019 at home with his wife of 61 years by his side.
Algie was born on March 25, 1935 to the late Algie Sr. and Lucy Stevens Jeffrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in laws George and Hazel Nichols; his daughter-in-law Kelli; his brothers Freddie, Jim, & Glenn; and by his brother Harold who passed away only an hour before.
He is survived by the love of his life, Patsy; sons, Randy of Hewett and Mike of Madison; daughter-in-law, Lezley of Madison; granddaughters, Amy of Hewett and Kayla (Adam) of St. Albans; grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan of Madison; sisters, Betty Meyers of Fairfax, VA and Helen Jeffrey of Mirana, AZ; brother, Gary Lee of Mill Creek; special “brother and sister”, Leon and Martha Nichols of Lake; and the lights of his life, his great-grandchildren, Makaya, Emma, Lyla, and Zander of Hewett.
Algie owned and operated Nichols Service Station at Lake for 47 years. He was a pillar of his community and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a member of Stevens Chapel Methodist Church and served as the Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #188. He was a member of the Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the Lions Club. There are few people on Hewett Creek who haven’t benefited from the kindness, generosity, and friendship of this wonderful man.
There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Sunday, November 17th at Stevens Chapel Methodist Church, Lake at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be sent in honor of Algie Jeffrey Jr. to Dignity Hospice PO Box 4304 Chapmanville, WV 25508. They had been wonderful to Algie and his family during his final days.
