Alice Kathryn Johnson

Alice Kathryn ”AK” Reynolds Johnson, 87, of Hamlin, WV gained her heavenly wings on May 8, 2018 at the Lincoln Nursing Home and Rehab with her son Keith holding her hand. She was born in Hamlin, WV on July 18, 1930. She was the daughter of the late William Henry “Bud” and Angeline Meade Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Brady L. Johnson; brothers, James and Jack Reynolds. Survived by daughter, Vivian (Clarence) Pinkerton of Grant, AL; sons, Keith (Judy) Johnson of West Hamlin, WV and Bradley Johnson of Huntington, WV; Sisters, Marie (Connie) Roberts, Branchland, WV, Dorothy (Charles) Clark, Sorrento, FL, Linda (Steve) Gawthrop, Hamlin and Barbara (Tom) Racer , Hamlin; Sinter-in-laws, Phyllis Reynolds, Oregon, OH, and Joan (Reynolds) Galford, Hurricane, WV; grandchildren, Cindy, Julie, Michael, Ryan and April Pinkerton, Allison (Bobby) Stickler, and Kristopher (Savannah) Johnson, Bradley II, Danielle and Rusty Johnson; and great grandchildren, Leslie Roberts, Caden Cortez, Riley, Rian and Nora Johnson, Brianna and Brooklyn Stickler, Gage, Kinley and McKinley Johnson.
AK was a graduate of Hamlin High School. She married the love of her life Brady on June 30, 1948 and raised her family on Coleman Creek in West Hamlin. She worked as a Tax Clerk in the Office of the Sheriff for Wylie Stowers, an Eligibility worker for the DHHR and retired from the Probation Department of the Judicial System in Lincoln County as a secretary. She was a member of the Hamlin Church of Christ and attended church services at the nursing home. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Lincoln Nursing and Rehab for taking such wonderful care of their Mom. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Friday May 11, 2018 at the Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin. The burial will be in Fairview Memory Gardens, Hamlin, Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday May 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Condolences can be left at www.handleyfh.com
