Anna Ruth Davis-Kitchen, 82, of Branchland, WV died peacefully at home on December 29, 2021 with her beloved daughter, Melanie, at her side.
She was born March 19, 1939 on Paddies Creek, Rt. 10, Brady, WV to the late Preacher James Vernon Davis and Eliza Mohalia Hargis-Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Jefferson (Dan) Kitchen; a precious son Daniel Earl (Danny Earl) Kitchen and great grandson, Brandon Scott Frye.
Also, going on before her were seven brothers, Holly Davis, Harley Davis, Jeff Davis, Roy Davis, Owen Davis, Harold James Davis, Lennis Davis and seven sisters. They were Josie Davis, Julie Davis-Allen, Martha Davis, Esther Davis-Kinder, Edith Davis-Javins, Florence Davis-Pennington and Dolly Virginia Davis.
Anna Ruth is survived by a son Curtis Ray (Sandy) Kitchen of Huntington, WV and two daughters, Rose Anna (David) Carter and Melanie Kitchen from Lincoln County, WV; a brother, George (Tina) Davis from San Antonio, TX and a sister, Betty Sue Davis (Dan) Abshire from Mt. Olivet, KY.
In addition, she also leaves behind nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren to honor her memory.
Anna Ruth loved her family, friends and basically everybody she met. Her favorite doctors of all time were the late G.O. McClellan and Dr. Michael Gibbs. She loved tending her flower garden, nurturing wildlife and domesticated animals, especially her faithful dog Precious. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, producing, and gifting, beautiful afghans and pillow cases. She held a lifelong appreciation for country music, especially good 'ole gospel, often lifting her hands and heart in praise to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services for Anna Ruth will be conducted at the McGhee-Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV on Friday December 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Timmy Davis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will follow at the Hargis-Davis Cemetery on Paddies Branch. She will be missed and never forgotten.
