Ardith Ray Ball, 99, a lifelong resident of Missouri Fork, Hewett passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 after a short illness.
He was born June 1, 1914 son of the late Richmond and Alberta Ball. He was a retired miner from Spruce River Coal Co. and a member of the UMWA and also worked for Danville Lumber Co. He was a like long member of Spencer Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Myrtle Aleshire Ball; two sisters, Ruby White and Oma Hager, brother, Opie Ball, and daughter Nancy Ball.
He is survived by two daughters: Betty “Dale” Franklin of Burlington, CO; Iva Blankenship of Aurora, CO; son Edward “Bud” Ball and wife Joyce of Missouri Fork; and sister, Hazel Casto of Missouri Fork, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Boone Nursing and Rehab for the care they provided.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at Spencer Chapel United Methodist Church Hewett with Rev. Roger McCauley and Harold Ray Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Ball Family Cemetery at Missouri Fork, Hewett.
