Arley “Paul” Jarrell, born April 6, 1926 to Troy and Doskie Jarrell of Bim, WV passed from this life on Nov. 24, 2015 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 47 years, Pauline M. Fesko; brothers Edward and Dauris; and sister Esther Mae Zontini.
Left to remember Paul are his daughters, Elaine (Ernie Burns) of South Charleston and Vickey (Ricci Stone), and son, Michael (Susan Meadows), of Madison. Paul’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Brandon (Beth) Burns, Shauna (Anthony) Elkins, Matthew Stone, Angie (Jason) Brumfield, Amelia (Eric) Frye and Juliana (Jake) Rollo. Great-grandchildren are Olivia Stone, Brooke, Lauren, Anna, and Kate Burns, Kayleigh Ellis, Ashlin and Addison Brumfield, Kedron and Alayna Elkins and Michael Frye.
For years, Paul was a well-known figure in Boone County for his laundry business, Paul’s Laundry Service. He traveled all over the county in any weather to take care of his customers. After retiring from that business, he worked in the mines for Carbon Fuel. He was a dedicated, proud member of the UMWA.
Paul loved having his family around him, especially the grandchildren. He was known for being somewhat of a character; his stories of his younger days will be remembered and laughed about by his family for years to come. His daughters, Elaine and Vickey, were completely dedicated over the years to ensuring that he had the very best care. He was truly blessed to have them.
The family would like to thank Boone Nursing Home staff for their many years of excellent care, and for the compassion they have shown to the family during this difficult time. It is truly appreciated.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Dr. Frank Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Low Gap, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
