Arnold "Eddie" Ray Elkins, 73, of Meadow Fork, WV went home to be with his sister, brothers, and parents on Friday, November 12, 2021 after a short illness with family by his side.
Eddie was born September 28, 1948 on Aleshire Hollow at Meadow Fork, WV, a son of the late Arland and Virginia Elkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Booth; brothers, Charles and Robert Elkins; and niece, Donna Tucker.
After working 24 years in the coal mines he retired and spent the remainder of his time spoiling his grandkids to the fullest. Eddie was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, uncle, papaw, father-in-law, and neighbor. He was a member of the Greenview Church of Christ and UMWA.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Angie; daughter, Zetta Kaye (John) Ingram; son, Victor "Bud" (Crystal) Elkins; three grandkids, Nicholas (Tawyna) Ingram, Victor (Lilly) Elkins, Jr., and Shelby Elkins; two great-grandkins, Kynnedi and Makai Ingram; sister, Georgia (Dennis) Dent, all of Meadow Fork, WV; and a host of neices, nephews, friends, and his best friend - his dog, Hard Time.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 18 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Richard Runyan and Frank Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Burkely Hill Cemetery, Meadow Fork, WV. Pallbearers will be family.
Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
