Arvel Lee Miller, 64, of Mud River Road, Danville passed away June 9, 2013 at Charleston General Hospital, Charleston after a tragic fall at home.
Arvel was born in Madison on March 22, 1949 to the late Sanford and Betty Miller. He was a kind and caring man with many friends and so many men that were his longtime friends that he enjoyed the game of golf with.
Arvel worked for Administrative Services for the past 30 plus years and was a heavy equipment operator.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 42 years, Donna Bain Miller; his daughter, Traci (Aaron) Gillispie of Danville; son, Shawn (Holly) Miller of Madison; five grandchildren that he adored, Kayla and Ryan Gillispie, Alex, Hayden and Griffin Miller; brothers, Carlos of Danville, David of Camp Creek and Tony of Seth; and sisters, Sharon Mitchell of Danville, Linda Lovejoy of Low Gap and Brenda Berry of Danville. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Arvel was a man of great strength and would help any one that needed it.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Chuck Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow at the Miller Family Cemetery, Mud River Road, Danville.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
