Arvil Richmond, 88, of Twilight went home to be with the Lord August 21, 2017 after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Greene and Alma Richmond; sister Margaret; brothers Emerson and Willie; as well as his children Ronald and Rebecca; and his granddaughter Candace Alexander.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Helen; his son David (Renee) of Harrodsburg Ky.; daughters Rhonda (Mike) Justice of Lynchburg Va; and Angela (Shane) Alexander of Twilight; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Arvil was an Elder at the Bandytown Church of Christ where he faithfully attended for 49 years. He was a retired coal miner with 43 years of employment with Peabody/Armco at #8 and the Tipple in Twilight.
Arvil spent his later years spending time with his children and grandchildren and riding his four-wheeler. He loved teaching Wednesday Bible study and working around his house. Many hours were spent with his best friend, Caleb, playing video games and watching or attending wrestling matches. His death has left a gaping hole in his family’s heart. He will be missed beyond measure.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 24 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Minister Tim Bailey, Minister Mike Justice and Al Flores officiating. Burial will be in Mid-Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown.
