Audie Murphy, Jr. “Little Audie”, 40, of South Charleston WV was called home on Monday, November 11, 2013.
He was born on August 12, 1973, in Madison, WV, to the Rev. Audie Murphy, Sr., and Benita Faye (French) Murphy of Clothier, WV. He was a 1991 Logan High School Graduate and a 2005 Graduate of West Virginia State University where he obtained an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (RN).
Audie was employed at Teays Center in Teays Valley as a RN. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his kids in sports and watching WVU football.
Audie, Jr., is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, April Sue Murphy; one daughter, Alexis Fae Murphy 19, who attends Marshall University; one son, Audie Murphy, III (Trae) 14, at home. He also leaves his parents, Rev. Audie Murphy, Sr. and Benita Faye Murphy of Clothier; one sister, Carissa Dawn Phillips (Ricardo); one niece, Aaliyah Phillips; nephews, Anthony and Amare’ Phillips of South Charleston; One brother, Brock Wilder; two nephews, Brock Wilder Jr. and Domonjay Wilder; two nieces, Wynter and Taykara Wilder of Columbus OH; mother and father-in-law, Carson and Sheila Akers of Lake; nieces, Elizabeth and Zaeaha Adams; nephews, Josh and Caleb Adams; and, nephews, Tyler, Kadan, Ethan Ball, and Landon Akers; along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at Handley Funeral Home Danville, WV, on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. James Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
Visitation will begin prior to the funeral at 12:30 p.m.
