Audrey Lynn McCallister, 49, of Yawkey, WV went home to be with our Lord after a short illness Saturday, October 3, 2015. Audrey was born the daughter of the late Chelcie and Thelma Lambert on August 4, 1966. She was preceded in death by two brothers Chelcie Lambert, Jr. and Ersel John Lambert.
Audrey is survived by her husband Paul McCallister, her children Matthew Abbott, Joshua Abbott and Haley McCallister of Yawkey, and Justin McCallister of Huntington. Her sisters: Nona Abbott of Alkol, Rita Sadler of Hamlin, Patricia Adams of Ona, Helen Wilson of Madison, Angie Pritchard of Hamlin and Susie Long of Sod, her brothers: Millard Lambert of Midkiff, Dwayne Lambert of Chapmanville, Alan Lambert of Alkol and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Audrey was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School and earned her degree in Nursing from Southern Community and Technical College. Audrey worked as a Nurse in several local emergency rooms. As a nurse Audrey’s heart carried over in the way she treated others. She always said that no matter what someone has done, there is good in every person and she truly believed that. Her perspective and how she could help others was immeasurable.
Audrey was compassionate, selfless and caring for everyone. She loved those around her unconditionally. God, her husband, her children and her family were her world. She always had a beautiful smile and a kind word. She taught those closest to her the meaning of true love and selflessness. She was a blessing to everyone she met.
Audrey will be sadly missed by her family and everyone who knew her. She sincerely was “Everybody’s Everything”.
Arrangements for Audrey’s service are by Handley Funeral Home of Hamlin, WV. Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm for friends. Rev. Robert McCallister will be officiating and interment will be at Lambert Cemetery, Ranger, WV.
