Beatrice Midkiff-Lucas Sholes

Beatrice Midkiff Lucas Sholes, 81, of Surf City, NC, formerly of West Hamlin, WV passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at home. She was born June 7, 1932 in West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Bills Midkiff. She was a member of the West Hamlin United Methodist Church, and a 1950 graduate of Guyan Valley High School. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Bias, Roma Pritchard and Sarah Salmons; and one brother, Hampton Midkiff.
She is survived by three sons, Johnny Lucas of Charlotte, NC, Danny Lucas of Surf City, NC and Ronnie (Wanda) Lucas of Fayetteville, NC; six grandchildren; four brothers, Harvey Midkiff of Madison, Ala., Richard Midkiff of West Hamlin, WV, David Midkiff of Appleton, Wis. and Jerry Midkiff of Salt Rock, WV
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, August 17, 2013 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Rev. Tom Jeffrey officiating. The burial will follow in the Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. Friends may call from 6pm to 8pm Friday at the funeral home.
