Belinda Abshire-Butcher was called home by her Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Monday, July 13, 2015 after a long battle with C.O.P.D.
A very selfless woman, Belinda donated countless hours to several organizations, including: The American Red Cross, Relay for Life, and she was also the former President of The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 111. Belinda was also a member of Carol Memorial Community Church.
Belinda is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred J. Abshire and Doris June (Belcher) Abshire of Ranger, WV.
. Belinda is survived by her husband Willie Wendell Butcher of West Hamlin, WV; son John Williamson, Jr. and his fiance Julie Mabe of West Hamlin; daughter D.J. Williamson and partner Nikkiah Simons of Ashland, KY; and the light of her life, granddaughter Shelby Marie Williamson of Boone County, WV, as well as all of her brothers and sisters including Sheila Frazier, wife of Bill Frazier of Ranger, WV. whom she viewed as more of a mother figure.
Memorial services to celebrate Belinda's life will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at McGhee and Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral will also be held at McGhee and Handley Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 17, 2015.
A graveside service will follow immediately at Enon Cemetery on Tyler Creek Rd. in Salt Rock, WV.
Belinda was a very strong woman who will be missed beyond belief. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you donate to Relay for Life to help find a cure.
