Bertha Canterbury, 98, of Madison passed away August 9, 2016 at Meadow Brook Assisted Living Facility, Camp Creek, Julian, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Seigel Canterbury; parents, John Henry and Myrtie Price Green; granddaughter, Kelly E. Hill; sisters, Nellie Green Harrison and Nannie Green Brown; brothers, Laurence Green, Theron Green, Burley Green, Wilson Green and Wilburn Green.
She is survived by two sons, Freddie Harold Canterbury (Janie) and Johnny D. Canterbury (Teresa); grandchildren, Paula Jane Linville (Mark), Pamela Jane Steele (Charlie), Judith Lynn Browning (Brian), Johnny Dee Canterbury II (Kelly), Adam Canterbury(Heather) and Bridget Foster (Greg); great-grandchildren, Marcus Linville, Earl D “Trey” Workman, Haley Browning, Jalynn Browning, Georgia Golden, Jimmy Golden, Lily Canterbury and Cole Foster; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Madison Church of Christ.
Special thanks to Meadow Brook Assisted Living Facility, Kanawha Hospice, Boone Memorial Hospital; and special caregiver, Linda Ferrell.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
