Bertha Ruth Williamson Pritchard 86 years 11 months and 27 days of Branchland, WV died on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home on Kentuck Fork surrounded by family.
She had been in declining health for the past year. Ruth was born January 19, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Pearly “PJ” Williamson 1995 and Nola Webb Williamson 1994. She was married on March 30 1945 to the love of her life Clifford Kip Pritchard who preceded her in death on July 24, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters Lucy Williamson 1929, Stella Williamson Nelson 1964, Christina Williamson Elias 2016; two brothers, Averill “Buck” Williamson 1975, Curtis Lucian “Bud” Williamson 2009; one son Pearly Odell Pritchard; one grandson Woodrow Allen Merritt and one great grandson Demetrius Meeks.
She is survived by four sons Charles “Junie” (Mary) Pritchard of Laurelville, Ohio, Rocky (Judy) Pritchard of Branchland, WV, Larry (Debbie) Pritchard of Branchland, WV, Elbie (Angela)Pritchard of Branchland, WV; two daughters, Linda Pritchard Merritt of Branchland, WV, Nola “Nan” Pritchard (Jim) Meeks of Oakwood, Ohio; one sister Midge Williamson McClellan of Huntington, WV. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Church, Branchland, WV. She loved taking roadtrips, sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, feeding and watching humming birds, pretty flowers, telling stories,saying rhymes, singing and nursery rhymes with the kids, she loved going to church and loved to visit with friends and family.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, December 31, 2016 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV.
The burial will follow in the Pritchard Family Cemetery, Branchland. A visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
