Bethel Loftis

Bethel Loftis, 88, of Gordon passed away September 1, 2015 at her daughter’s home at Jeffrey. She was born November 1, 1926 and was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Henderson Helderbrand. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Duel Loftis; son, Rev. Kenneth Loftis; brothers, Archie, Artis, Luster, Laverne, Luther, Romey, Clesta and Alan; and sisters, Olive, Alma, Martha, Vesta and Opal.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bim Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Jenkins (Jim) of Jeffrey; brother, Leronis Helderbrand of LA; grandchildren, Michael Loftis (Cynthia) and Leslie Jenkins (Matt Wagner); and great-grandchildren, Michael and Brandon Loftis.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 5 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Chip Frame and the Rev. John Frame officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
