Betty Jean Dent 92 of Madison, WV went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2016.
Betty was born August 25, 1923, to Opie and Cecil Nutter of Carbondale, WV. Betty loved quilting and was a member of the “Bald Knob Quilters”. Many people may remember her from Hecks Department Store where she worked for many years.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Dent, ten siblings and one great great grandchild.
Surviving Betty are her children; Michael Dent of Wellington, Fl, Patrick (Connie) Dent of Madison, Aloma(Gerry) Violetti of Barnstead, NH, Gregory Dent of Tampa, Fl, and Tammy (Randall) Potter of Madison, seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren .Also her sister Hope (Robert) McKnight of Alloy.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Hillcrest Health Care and Boone Memorial Hospital for the care, kindness and compassion for our Mother while she was in their care.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 Memory Gardens, Madison, with Rev. Donnie Elam officiating.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV.
