Betty Louise Hoover, 81, of Ashford, WV entered Heavens gates on May 21, 2015 following a long illness.
Betty was born on April 13, 1934 to the late Charley and Goldie Kirk. Betty was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, William Herbert Hoover who she married December 24, 1949; her third child, William Herbert Hoover Jr.; her first grandchild, Travis William Sutphin; sisters and brothers, Brenda Hall, Chrissy Titus, Loretta Ball, Charles Kirk and Michael Kirk.
She is survived by her son, Roger Dean Hoover of Ashford, WV; and daughter, Rosona Kay “Kitty” Villaraza of Grafton, WV; two grandchildren, Maria Shilo Villaraza of Cheat Lake, WV and Christopher Neil Villaraza of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandson, Cameron William Villaraza of Cheat Lake, WV; sisters, Martha Webb of Whitesville, WV, Camilla Grimmett of Ronceverte, WV and Margaret Callahan of Stanley, NC.
Betty was a consummate mother and homemaker. She lit up a room with love and kindness, only two of the many wonderful attributes remembered by family and friends. She was a member of the Wharton Missionary Baptist Church.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Youel Altizer officiating, a dear family member and friend. Burial will follow in Kirk Cemetery in Ashford.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
