Betty Jane Adkins

 Betty Jane Adkins, 67, of Branchland, WV, went to Jesus on Tuesday December 3, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 12, 1957, Betty was the cherished daughter of Maxine Adkins and the late Roy Adkins. She was a beloved sister to Juda Adkins, Roy Lee Adkins (Jody), and the late Golden Dewayne Adkins (Mary).

 Betty’s warm and kind spirit earned her countless friends throughout her life. She was a proud aunt to her nieces and nephews- Kevin (Danielle), Kelli (Micah), Kristin (Justin), Ashley, and Troy- and doting great-aunt to her sweet great-niece, Cora. A 1975 graduate of Guyan Valley High School where she had a group of friends she would celebrate birthdays. Betty was a beloved crew member and Electronics department manager at Walmart store #1478 in South point, Ohio for 33 years, where she made several lifelong friends and brought many customers smiles and joy.

 Betty was an adventurer at heart who loved traveling with her best friend Cindy. She was an avid reader, always eager to dive into a good book. A woman of strong faith, Betty found joy and comfort in her church and church family, where she shared her love and laughter freely.

 Betty’s vibrant presence and caring heart will be remembered by all her knew her. She brought joy to every room she entered, and her memory will continue to inspire love and kindness in those she leaves behind.

 A celebration of Betty’s life will be announces at a later date. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, you honor Betty by sharing a book with someone or spreading kindness in her memory.

 Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, December 6, 2024 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery, Branchland, WV. A visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the funeral home. Condolences can be left at www.handleyfh.com.
