Betty Ann Powell, nee Lane, passed away on March 23rd 2024 in Hamlin West Virginia at the age of 90. She was born on November 13, 1933 in Monclo, Logan County, West Virginia. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, cherished by all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her daughters Linda (William) Galarza, Rosalee Washington; sons Gar Powell (Ellen), and Gregory Scott Powell. She also had eight loving grandchildren: William James Galarza (Kerry), Robert Galarza (Sarah), John Galarza (Amy), Monica Soto and Angelica Soto, Gene Powell, Aubrie Powell, and Jacob Powell; sister June Lopez and brother Bobby Lane. She also had seven great grandchildren: Lily, Ben, Bella, Sam, Will, Alexandra, and Theo. Betty was also a wonderful Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Jimmie Edward Powell; her parents were Della and Ezra Lane; and her siblings Willie, Bernice, Earl, Charles, Arnold, Ezra Jr, Beulah, Ruby, Clarence, Doris, and Gordon.
Betty attended Sharples High School and worshiped earlier in her life at Monclo Freewill Baptist and most recently at Greenview Church Of Christ. She enjoyed making jewelry, watching old westerns, catching up with old friends, and growing flowers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6 - 8 p.m. at Handley Funeral Home in Danville West Virginia.
Services will be on Thursday April 4th at 11 a.m. at Handley Funeral Home in Danville West Virginia with Pastor Joe Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Boone Memorial Park in Madison West Virginia.
