Billy Joe Adkins

Billy Joe Adkins, 86, of Danville, WV passed away Wednesday,  March 1, 2023 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV.

He was born December 28, 1936 and was a son of the late Emmette and Florence Adkins.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Telisa Jonette Adkins; brothers, Elwood Cook, Donnie Adkins; and sisters, Ilene Shane, Betty Renfroe, and Janet Asbury.

He was a member of Madison Church of Christ, a retired coal miner, a carpenter, and was an avid grassmower and growing a garden.

He is survived by his wife Cora Jean; daughters, Karen Sue (Daniel) Javins of Foster, WV and Kacee Janee Pauley and son in law Jack Pauley of Beckley, WV; brother, Jarvie Gene Adkins of Seacoal, WV; sisters, Letha Miller and Dolly James both of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Ashley (Caleb) Fitzwater, Andrew (Morgan) Javins, Alan Javins, Trey Pauley, and Gabi Pauley, and great grandchildren, Jameson Javins and Myles Fitzwater

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Richard Runyon and John Duty officiating.  Burial will follow in Family Gardens on Low Gap Road, Madison, WV.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
