Billy F. Dolin, 80, of Julian died 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013. His wife Almira died February 13, 2007. They are now united in Heaven.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Dwight “Dee” Dolin; and two brothers, Gilbert and Virgil; grandson, Luther “Bubby” Myers.
He was a retired teacher from Boone County Board of Education Systems. He also worked at Armco Steel of Nellis and Kizer Aluminum of Ravenswood. He was a lifetime member of the Odd Fellows. He attended the Bible Baptist Church of Danville. He will be greatly missed and remembered by a host of family and friends.
He is survived by one son and five daughters, Elsa (Bill) Ashley of Charleston, Margaret (Ben) Henry of Greenwood, IN, Mary (Randy) Brannan of Fincastle, VA, Edgar (Kathy) Dolin of Ridgeview, Katherine (Mike) Uy of Salem, VA and Della (Ron) Uy of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Scarlet (Frank) of Matthews of NC, Dawn and Douglas of Charleston, WV, Dale and Kelly (Ben) of Greenwood, IN, Ethan of Fincastle, VA, and Max and Nathan of Salem, NC; great-grandchildren, Benjamin of Parkersburg, WV and Sydney and Blake of Matthews, NC; and sister-in-law, Wanda Dolin.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
