Billy Joe Nelson 54 of Spencer WV formerly of Van, WV died July 11, 2014 of an accidental drowning at Forked Run Lake, OH.
Preceding him in death were his father, Carl Dean Nelson; his mother, JoAnn Smith; stepfather, Eshel Smith; brother, Paul Nelson; and special nephews Roger and Scott Vance.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Joleen; and son, Billy Ray; sisters, Susan (Keither) Baisden of Gordon; Debbie (Roger) Vance of Ripley; Jean Dillon of Whitesville; brothers, Ronald Nelson of Bob White; Larry (Nancy) Nelson of Kenna, WV and Bruce Nelson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with the Rev. Phil Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Mid-Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, WV.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
