Billy Ray Vance Jr.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of Billy Ray Vance, Jr., born June 22, 1992 of Uneeda, WV.  Billy Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29th, 2023. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his Dad, Billy Ray Vance of Uneeda, WV; his Mom, Lisa Keeney Miller of Pelion, SC; his sister Hannah Adams (Jeff) and three nieces, Bethany, Isabella, & Gianna; as well as numerous relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his Grandmothers, Lucille (Vance) Robertson of Ripley, WV and Brenda (Jenkins) Smith, of Wharton, WV. 

Billy Jr. was a jack-of-all-trades. He possessed so many great skills and certifications, but the one he was most proud of was following in his Dad’s footsteps and becoming an underground Coal Miner. He was employed by BlackHawk Mining and worked at Blue Creek. He loved his job and learning and growing in his field. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and tinkering with his tools in the garage. 

Service 2 PM Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Pastor Steve Burns officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery on Low Gap Road, Madison, WV.

Visitation at 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
