Bobbie Lee Coon

November 10, 1931 — March 27, 2016

Bobbie Lee Coon, 84, of Madison, WV passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center after suffering a massive stroke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Artist and Gladys Hayes Coon.

He retired from Peabody Coal Company where he was a Prep Plant Supervisor. He was a member of the UMWA and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jarrell Coon; his daughters, Valerie Mullins and Teresa (Johnny) Canterbury all of Madison; grandchildren, Jason Mullins of Madison and Bridget (Greg) Foster of Charleston; great-grandchildren, Dustin Mullins of Madison and Cole Foster of Charleston; brother, William “Bill” (Carol) Coon of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sisters-in-law, Ann Jarrell of Scott Depot and Frena Jarrell of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his furry grandchildren, Maverick and Rigby who he loved also.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington for all the care, love and attention they provided to all of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions if desired, may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital as it held a special place in his heart.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Family Gardens, Madison with the Rev. Tom Bias officiating.
