Brenda Kay Atkins

Brenda Kay Atkins, 65 of Branchland, WV passed away on July 24, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born March 16, 1950 in Logan, WV a daughter of the late Theodore and Annie Marie Jones Scites. She graduated from Logan High School in 1968, and was a licensed practical nurse for many years. She was of Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Atkins; her daughter Nora Gore; and her sister Mary Katherine Crane.

She is survived by her daughter Angel Dawn Perry (Homer); granddaughters, Kayla and April of Big Creek; grandsons, David, Timothy, and Matthew of West Hamlin; brothers, Daniel (Patricia) of Peach Creek, Ted (Linda) of Chapmanville, James (Patricia) of Chapmanville; her aunt Martha Nelson of Beckley; and uncle Harvey Wells of Branchland, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday July 27, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV. Burial will follow at Scites-Kopsolias Cemetery, Branchland. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Monday.
