Brenda Sue Stevens, 70, of Midkiff, WV went to her heavenly home on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Welch Community Hospital.
She was born in Big Creek of Lincoln County, West Virginia on October 24, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Cooper and Elsie Bishop Cooper. Also proceeding her in death were her loving husband James “Nit” Stevens; daughter Elizabeth Ann Stevens Miller; granddaughter Angel Dawn Carter; sisters: Ruth Neal, Frances Christian, and Ramona Cooper; brothers: Jim Adkins, Fletcher Adkins, Tommy Adkins, Johnny Cooper, and Elbert Cooper Jr. Living siblings include, Georgia Pelleau, Betty Gibson, and Alfred (Dolores) Cooper.
She was the loving mother of Jane (Charles) Stevens Frye of Upper Big Creek, WV, Bonnie Stevens of Huntington, WV, and Mary (Scott) Stevens of Pineville, WV. She was the proud granny of Karrie (Garfield) Bills, Dustin (Ledena) Stevens, Erica (Anthony) McNeely, Tyler Miller, Ashley (Josh) Tomblin, Nathaniel Stevens, Kayla (Shane) Carter, Breonna (Chance) Broyhill, Brenda Mae Stevens, and Wade Carter and 12 great grandchildren; Kaydence, Natalie, Liam, Nevaeh, Brantley, Lainey, Hellen Rose, Karma, Mila, Riley, Kaysley, and Ryker.
Services will be conducted from 12-1 pm Sunday, September 26, 2021 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV. Graveside service will follow at Hager Cemetery on Stevens Mountain Road.
She will be greatly missed by many and forever in our hearts. She was so kind hearted and had open arms for everyone she met.
