Burl Curtis Dean

Burl Curtis Dean, 80, of Branchland, WV passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1933 at Branchland, WV, a son of the late Henry and Ella Williamson Dean. He was a retiree of Ford Motor Company of Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ivory Brunty, Beatrice Hargis and Stella Dean; five brothers, Hiram, Arvil, Sebren, John Riley and Darrell June Dean.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Robertson Dean; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Chad Westfall of Hurricane; two beloved grandsons, Larry Michael Westfall and Connor Dean Westfall; three sisters, Martha Hager of Columbus, OH, Mary Shephard of Hurricane, WV and Helen Aliff (Carl) of Twinsburg, OH; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, great, great nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in the Warrick Cemetery, Branchland, WV. A visitation will be 6pm to 8pm Monday at the funeral home.
