Calvin C. Porter

Calvin C. Porter, 88, of Branchland, WV passed away Monday November 11, 2013 at home. He was born July 22, 1925 in Lincoln County, a son of the late Talmadge and Della Cremeans Porter. He was retired from CSX railroad after working for 42 years and a member of Camp Branch United Baptist Church. He was a deacon for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virnie Jeffrey Porter; four daughters, Brenda (Thomas) Porter, Diana (Mike) Porter, Phyllis (Don) Porter and Sharon Hatfield; one son, Phil (Sharon) Porter; four granddaughters, Jessica (David) Vance, Amanda (John) Cummings, Heather (Bobby) Gibson and McKayla Porter; four grandsons, Kevin (Peggy) Porter, Brent Porter, Brandon (Shelly) Porter, Jonathan (Tracey) Hatfield; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Cooper; three very special friends, Marshall Kiser, Rodney Linville and Steve McComas; one special nephew, Wayne Jeffrey; a host of brothers and sisters in Christ
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday November 13, 2013 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Jim Wilson and Bob Burns officiating. The burial will follow in the Porter-Hatfield Cemetery, Branchland, WV. A viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the funeral home.
