Calvin Lee Sigmon was born March 21, 1948 and departed this world on November 13, 2018 at his home in Greenwood, WV at the age of 70.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Sharon Fern Sigmon; father and mother Tuncil and Elva Sigmon; brother Ernest (Tootie) Sigmon; and father-in-law Dallas Wooten.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired coal miner and proud member of the United Mine Workers.
Calvin was a good man who loved the Lord, his family, his parrot Grey Bob, his Model-A Hot Rod and singing in Church with his wife.
Calvin leaves behind two sons, Andy (Michelle) Sigmon, and Jason (Tawana) Sigmon; five grandchildren, Tyler Sigmon, Shiann Sigmon, Trevor Sigmon, Kienna Sigmon, and Blake Sigmon; brother, Frankie Sigmon; sisters, Viola (Paul) Ritchie, and Caroline (Taterbug) Moore; mother-in-law, Dana Wooten; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Delbert) Elkins; brother-in-law, Mike (Roberta) Wooten; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Glen Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 of Madison, WV.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
