Carl H. Campbell
August 11, 1932 — July 24, 2014
Carl H. Campbell, Jr. 81, of Alkol went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jean Campbell; son, Carl H. Campbell III; brothers, Harvey, Don, Denton, Dell and Roger; and one sister, Carolyn.
He was a member of the Leftfork Baptist Church. He was a member of UMWA and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be sadly missed. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by three sons, Rodney Soup Campbell (Pam), Timothy Campbell (Debbie) and Chris Campbell (Misty); brothers, Stanley Campbell (Irene) of Duck, WV and Eddie Campbell (Doris) of Goleta, CA; sisters, Dolly Buckles and Maxine Downing both of Mt. Pulaski, IL; seven grandchildren, Brett, Brittany, Brooke, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Nicholas and Liam.
A special thank you to the best neighbors a person could have, Stanley and Anita Miller and to Rose Hasen for helping us care for Carl.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Randall Kinder officiating. Burial will be in Braxton County at the Campbell Family Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
