Carlos James Miller, 93 years old, of Danville, WV passed away at his home on September 20, 2015. He was born June 5, 1922 in Lincoln County and was a son of the late Emzy and Effie Thompson Miller. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise; sons, David Earl Miller and Carlos J. Miller Jr.; one brother, Cleo Miller; and sister, Marie Jeffrey.
He worked as a dozer operator for thirty years at Westmoreland Coal Company. He was a member of UMWA Local 9735. He was a World War II US Army veteran and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca J. (James) Asbury; granddaughter, Cassie Jo Asbury; great-grandson, Asher Coal Akers; sisters, Edna Fulton of Florida and Ora Simoniello of Ohio.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Harley Egnor officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, West Virginia.
