Carmel Douglas Jarrell

August 27, 1942 — June 9, 2016

Carmel Douglas Jarrell, 73, of Bald Knob, WV went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, June 9, 2016 after a long illness.

He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA. He was also a member of the Morning Star House of Prayer in Nellis. Carmel was an avid sports fan and loved the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers.

He was born to the late Edgar and Mary Jarrell on August 27, 1942. He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Doris Jarrell; sisters, Charlene Halstead, Jane Welch, Grace Workman, Linda Harris and Mary Barker; and brothers, Dickie Jarrell and Arley Jarrell.

Carmel is survived by his sister, Wanda Ross (Larry); children, Carmel Jr. (Kathy), Roberta Wooten (Mike), Theresa Crouse (Phillip) and Kevin Jarrell (Amanda); ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Larrry Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
