Carolyn Sue Miller

July 27, 1942 — February 14, 2019

Carolyn Sue Miller, 76, passed away peacefully Thursday February 14, 2019 after a sudden illness. Her family was by her side.

Carolyn, affectionately known by many as “Sue”, was born on July 27, 1942 to the late Kermit and Ida Wooten Cook. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Carolyn was a lifelong Christian and a member of West Madison Baptist Church.

Carolyn is survived by her three children, Tammy (John) Ballard of Foster, WV; Tim (Danna) Ritchie of Charlotte, NC; and Sherry (Eric) Shoup of Columbia, SC. She has eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Shawn & Evan Ballard; Alex, Jake, Tess, and Nate Ritchie; Matthew & Carly Shoup. Carolyn is also survived by her siblings Jenny (George) Harrington; Dean (Carol) Cook; Chat (Jim) Propst; and her sister-in law Kay Cook.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carylon Miller; and her brother Edward Cook.

Carolyn was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and would never turn down a card game of Rook. She had a certain spunk about her that was contagious and made all who knew her love her.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 16th from 6-8 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service on Sunday 2 pm at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor James Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park.
