Cathy Atkins Bailey, 1953-2023, November 26^th, 1:39am.

Cathy was born on November 15, 1953 to Charles and AnnahGay Atkins in Ravenswood, West Virginia. She was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family and friends before herself. Cathy was a strong woman who faced every challenge in life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to all who met her. Cathy will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she has touched.

Cathy was a woman of strong faith and instilled the practice of importance of family, hard work and doing what is right in her children. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and AnnahGay Atkins, her husband Gerald Bailey, Sister Pam Callahan, and her son Bo Smith. She is survived by her brother and sisters, Charles Atkins II, Reida Hamilton, Rhonda Childers, and Lynn Atkins, children, Ericka Carrick, Richard Christian, and Tessie Rambo, Grandchildren Rico, Brandon, Rodney, Kyrie, Elizabeth, Taylor, Shelby, JJ, Devin, Jacob, Destiny, and Brent. Great Grandchildren Audrina, Isabella, Benjamin, Kayia, Adrian, Amora, Malachi, Roman, and Kinsley.

The funeral service will be held at Handley Funeral home on Friday December 1 at 2:00 P.M. Family viewing begins at 12:30 P.M. for family and 1:00 P.M for friends.

Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace. God has prepared your home.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
