Cecil Ray Brunty

Cecil Ray Brunty, 64, of Branchland, WV passed away Monday April 17, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

He was born December 21, 1952 in Logan County, a son of the late Hal and Flora Hager Brunty. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Edward Dillon and a grandson, Joseph Ray Short Jr.

He was a retired school bus driver for Lincoln County Schools.

He is survived by his loving wife Cora Jeffery Brunty; daughters, Kimberly Dillon (Michael Turley) and Tina Short( Joseph “Joey”); grandchildren, Kerri Short, Kerrigan Grace Short, Ryan Short, Kaitlyn “Katie” Short, Jesse Dillon, Makayla Jo Dillon; special mother-in-law, Herma Nelson; five brother-in-laws, one special Roger Jeffery; brothers, Edgar Brunty and Arthur Brunty; sisters, Alice Roy, Betty Dillon and Opal Roark; special friends, Kenny Webb and Larry Ferguson; one very special nephew Dale Harris and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday April 21, 2017 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Steve Nida and Bobby Burns officiating. The burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery, Branchland, WV.

A visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
