Charles Edward Smith, 85, of Stollings, Logan County, WV passed away September 30, 2016 at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison.
He was a long time car salesman and owner of Aracoma Motors, Logan, a Past Master of Aracoma Lodge 99 AF&AM, past High Priest of Logan Chapter No 4l, Royal Arch Masons, Past Commander of Logan, Commandery No 26, 33 Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Beni Kedem Shrine, a Navy Veteran, and a past member of American Legion.
He is survived by daughter/granddaughter, Dr. Courtney (K. Brian) Adkins of South Charleston, WV; granddaughter, Adrienne Goodwin of Proctorville, OH; son-in-law, Grant Goodwin of Proctorville, OH; brother, David (Betty) Smith of Lewisburg, TN; and great-grandchildren, his namesake Charles Adkins, William Adkins, Kate Adkins and Phoebe Adkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Glenna Peck Smith, a son Charles E. “Eddie” Smith and a grandson Grant Austin Goodwin II. Since his death in September 2016 his daughter, Cathy Goodwin passed December 31, 2016; and his wife Vivian passed February 12, 2017.
A joint memorial service for Vivian and Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville WV with Pastor Jeff Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Logan, with Masonic graveside rites for Charles E. Smith.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
