Charles Elywin Workman (Charlie Bill) 78 of Wharton, WV was called to his heavenly home on April 10, 2019 after a short illness. Charlie was born on March 9, 1941 to George and Georgia Workman of Wharton. He was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Debbie Workman, and Mary Ann Singleton; brother, Gary Lee Workman.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Brenda May Workman; sons, Chuckie Workman (Missy) of Gordon, Steven Campbell (Christy) of Beckley, Phillip Campbell (Rachel) of Charleston, and Andy Chambers (Tammy) of Van; sister, Clara Jean Adkins (Jimmy) of Lexington, NC, and brother Robert Workman (Sheila) of Wharton; six grandchildren, Charissa Workman, Shane Campbell, Hunter Campbell, Adayanna Campbell, Logan Campbell, and Austin Campbell.
Charlie Bill was a man of simple pleasures. If you would have asked, he would have told you there wasn’t anything finer than three easy things; a clean, well stocked garage, where bluegrass and moochies were fried; day in the mountains with Brenda, his family and friends, shooting squirrels and laughing telling stories of time in the woods; and his chrome plated jeep, one of the great loves of his life. If you would have asked Charlie, there wouldn’t be anything nicer in the world than those three things; and that’s how he’ll be remembered by his family and friends; in the mountains, hunting moochies, and his chrome plated jeep.
Funeral service will be 5:00 PM Sunday April 14, 2019 at Bald Knob United Methodist Church with Scotty Elswick officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 at the church.
Handley Funeral Home in Danville is assisting the Workman family.
