“Charlie” Lewis Sitton Jr. was born to L.B. Sitton and Bess Lambdin Sitton on April 30, 1922 in Tennessee. He made his home in Uneeda, WV with Naomi Sitton, his beloved wife of 72 years. He departed for his new home in Heaven on January 17, 2014. On his departure he was surrounded by a host of angels and his loving family.
Charlie made friends everywhere he went. He served as Sunday school superintendent. He gave his heart to the Lord as a young man and faithfully attended church. He was a member of Cazy Freewill Baptist Church. He worked in the coal mines and was a member of the UMWA. He hunted in the mountains, fished in the streams, and loved to work in his garden. He was known far and wide for the funny stories he told and always made people laugh with him. His heart was big and he was always ready to help anyone in need. He left behind this promise as he said to his great-granddaughter and others, “I’ll see you on the other side.”

Sitton and wife, Barbara; daughter, Donna Maynard and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Michelle and Ron Shumate and Charles and Kimberly Maynard; step-grandson, Eric and Tabitha Hayhurst; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Ben Shumate, Sarah and Brandon Redd and Billy Maynard; step-great-grandchildren, Samantha and Amanda Risko and Jonathan, Cody, Justin, Amber and Ashley Hayhurst; great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Maynard; brother, Rev.
