Christine Ann Toppings

Christine Ann Toppings, 78, of Midkiff, WV died Thursday April 17, 2025. She was born June 2, 1946 in Holden, WV, a daughter of the late Lewis Marcum and Shirley Richards. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Marcum, Connell Marcum, Darrell Marcum, Virgil Starr; sisters, Eleanor Damion and Shirlene Living.

She is survived by her husband Wayne Toppings, her husband for 63 years; children and their spouses, Claude and Amber Toppings of Mt Sterling, OH, Samantha and Charlie Nelson of Ranger, WV, Elvie and Cindy Toppings of Greenfield, OH, Maison and Holly Toppings of Washington Courthouse, OH ; grandchildren, Christopher Toppings, Jessica Dean, Nathaniel (Beth) Toppings, Shalina (Dallas Sheppard) Toppings, Bruce Adam Lovejoy, Phillip (Meagan) Hughes, Taneka (JD Blanton) Hughes, Jacob (Nikki) Toppings, Kimmie (Justin Osborne) Toppings, Willow Toppings, Justin (Ciera) Toppings, Cody (Samantha) Farley, Henry Barber, Hailey Barber, Maisey Lynn Toppings; 24 great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Marcum of Lafayette, Ind, Ron Starr of Wyanet, Ill, Dennis Marcum of Wilksville, OH; brothers-in-law, Thurman Rakes of Branchland, WV and George Toppings of Alkol, WV; sisters-in-law, Brenda Vance of Branchland, WV, Bonnie Burns of Branchland, WV, Linda Sue Rakes of Branchland, WV, Vanessa Marcum of Wilksville, OH, Linda Starr of Wyanet, Ill, and Sandy Starr of Covington, Ky.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother and Great grandmother. A homemaker, loved the Lord, loved and enjoyed every moment with family and friends, enjoyed worshipping the Lord, loved and enjoyed singing-especially loved and enjoyed cooking and what she could provide, especially loved and looked forward to family reunions at Chief Logan State Park. Mom talked of those memories often, numerous nieces and nephews whom mom loved dearly spoke of often and cherished every visit meeting or conversation, loved enjoyed and found comfort in windchimes. She enjoyed fishing and camping, planting a garden, planting and caring for her flowers, cats and birds, and solar lights, loved to spoil her grand and great grandchildren with every moment possible. She never met a stranger nor turned a blind eye to a living thing, mom has turned the homestead into a wildlife sanctuary, a little piece of Heaven here on Earth. “Our mom will be remembered and missed by a lot of people. Just remember she is in Heaven now with her loved ones and sending love and prayers to all.” The Toppings Family
