Clara Pearl Carroll Lived…

She lived from July 11, 1925 to when Our Lord called her home on January 17, 2024, 98 ½ years later… While those years held many struggling times for families, such as the Great Depression, World War II, and countless other hardships, Clara was always a ray of hope. She persevered with a positive outlook on life and a can-do attitude. Clara was never afraid to lend a helping hand, and she touched many lives as a United States Postmaster, neighbor, cherished friend and countless family loved ones, while inspiring lasting memories in those around her. Clara’s compassion and kindness will always be remembered by those she was able to touch during her wonderful and exciting long life.

Clara and her husband, Emyl E. Carroll were married in 1947. They shared their lives together for 67 precious years. As for Clara’s children and grandchildren, she will forever be our Angel.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents James A. and Ollie Pearl Bunting, her loving husband Emyl E. Carroll and her precious son Thomas E. (Buddy) Carroll.  She was also preceded in death by her loving brothers, Jack, Bill and Tom Bunting, and sister, Alice Price.

Those blessed in cherishing her memory are her sister, Linda Duty; daughter, Emily (Larry) Bevins; grandchildren, Maretta Lynn (Doug) Griffith, Rick (Christie) Cregger, Ben (Crystal) Carroll, Amanda (Barry) Markin; great grandchildren, Jacklyn (Christopher) Kennedy, Hunter (Ashlynne) Cregger, LaChrista Cregger, Carson and Mallory Carroll, Henry and William Markin; great-great grandchildren, Xander, Titan and Anakin Kennedy along with many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January, 24, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with a private family visitation beginning at 12:30 pm followed by a public visitation from 1 to 2 pm. Main services will commence at 2 pm.  Services will be officiated by Preacher, David Cook and Timmy Spratt with graveside services to follow at Memory Gardens, Low Gap, Madison, WV.
