Clarence Keith Pauley 66 after a hard fought battle with cancer was promoted from this world to his Heavenly mansion on Friday, February 10, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Douglas and Carlene Jones Pauley, his brother-in-law Jiggs Sutphin and Paul Nelson, his father and mother-in-law Seymour and Ruby Ellis, sister-in-law Edna Ellis Evans, his brothers-in-law Warren Herald and Okie Evans and a great nephew Cory ”Bird”Price.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and member of the United Mine Workers, local 633. He worked for Westmoreland Coal and Bethlehem Steel. He was most proud of being a member of the Church of Christ of Danville, West Virginia.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his best friend, angel, and loving wife of 43 years, Jackie Ellis Pauley, his daughter Nicole (Allen) Beckett of Taylorsville, NC, his son Derek (Donna) Pauley of Catawba, NC, his beautiful and favorite granddaughter Caitlyn and precious grandson Jeremy both of Taylorsville, NC, his sisters, Sue Sutphin and Denese Nelson both of Julian, WV, his brother Denzil (Linda) Pauley of Alkol, his sisters-in-law Katty (Doug) Jeffrey, Kay (Kenneth) Watts and Barbara Herald all of Chapmanville, WV, brother –in-law Larry (Gloria) Ellis of Danville, WV and a host of other family and friends. Also many special brother and sisters from the Church of Christ family at Danville.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Handley Funeral Home, Danville WV with Mark Wheatley officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison with military graveside rites Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, WV.
