Clayborne Preston Runion

Clayborne Preston Runion, 95, of Alum Creek WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2024.

Claybourne was a family man and was an avid coon hunter.

Clayborne was preceded in death by his late parents John and Minnie Dotson Runion; first wife Betty Browning Runion; four sons David Runion, Ronnie, Dolin, Roger Webb and James Paul Runion; eight brothers Joe Runion, Ernest Runion, Cecil Runion, Wesley Runion, Charles Runion, Ollie Runion, Ray Runion and Andrew Runion; and two sisters Heddie Williams and Linda Green.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Runion, they were together 32 years, married 25 years; sons, Johnny (Debbie) Runion of Camp creek, WV, Jerry (Icy) Runion of Red House Rd, WV, Rickey (Lisa) Runion of Camp Creek, WV and Sid (Sierra) Fry of Coal River, WV; daughters, Ruby (Ron) Creede of Madison, WV and Della “Chrissy” (Chris) Owens at home; two brothers in law, Lester Owen and John Owen; and one sister in law, Mary Owen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held on 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville WV with Jerry Runion and Tommy Stowers officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Park, Danville WV. 

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
