Dana Ray Browder

Dana ‘Charlie’ Browder, Sr. age 77 of Quinland, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 3, 2024. He was born in Madison, WV on January 4, 1947. He was a graduate of Van High School, class of 1967.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Kendall and Margie Browder; brothers, Orville, Ernie, Andy, and John; sisters, Lucille Robertson, Betty Canterbury, and Bessy Ramsey; and his son Brian Lester Browder.

Charlie retired from the coal mines after 38 years of hard work running the scoop and was a member of the UMWA. He was an active member of the Freedie Freewill Baptist Church at Van, WV, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a coach for the Boone County Midget league for many years and lead the team to an undefeated season in 1996, the year he lost his son. He enjoyed being with family, going to camp, fishing, hunting, watching WVU football, reading his Bible, and being a witness for the good Lord.

Left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 51 years Reda Browder; son Dana Browder, Jr.; daughters, Wendy (Wesley) Craddock, Heather (David) Dolin, and Lindsey (Caleb) Vinson; grandkids, Jeff, Josh, and Sosha Terry, Chelsea and Brian Browder, Collin Light, his pretty little punkin Brialan and David ‘Buster’ Dolin; several great grandkids; and also left to cherish his memory are his church family, and many beloved friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Steve Burns officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road, Madison, WV.
