Dana Geraldine (Adkins) Wooten, 89, of Greenwood, WV, went to her Heavenly home on March 20, 2022. She was born on December 8, 1932, to the late Ezra and Gertrude Adkins.
Dana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was a beloved member of her community, where she served as a postal clerk at the Bald Knob Post office for years. She was a devout Christian who served the Lord all her life.
In addition to her parents, Dana was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Dallas Wooten; daughter Sharon Sigmon; sons-in-law Calvin Sigmon and Delbert Elkins; sister Garnet Coleman; and brother Austin Adkins.
Dana is survived by her son, Mike (Roberta) of Bald Knob; daughter, Rhonda Elkins of Conway, SC; grandchildren, Andy Sigmon (Michelle); Jason Sigmon (Tawana), Jennifer Elkins (Steve), Justin Elkins (Missy), Miranda McCarty (Nick), Michael Wooten, and Lindsey Wooten (Ray); and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Hilda Logan of Gainesville, VA, Faye White of Canal Fulton, OH, Marie Chute of Warren, NJ, Glenna Cioffi (Ron) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wanda Jarrell of Coal City, WV; brother, Minnis Adkins (Shirley) of Hickory, NC; special niece and nephew, Vicki Bailey and Shane Alexander; a host of other nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends; and her grand-dog Lucy (the baby) who brought her so much joy.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with Tim Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road, Madison, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
