Danny R. Williams, 62, of Danville passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Huntington, WV.
He was born December 17, 1951 in Madison, WV and was a son of the late Vernon and Louise Hall Williams.
Danny served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a coal miner and truck driver and a member of the UMWA.
He is survived by one daughter, Shawna (Greg) Childress and grandson, Jacob Childress of Tornado; one brother, Vernon Williams Jr. of Danville; nephew, Jeremy (Melinda) Williams; great nephew, Kory Williams; and great-niece, Amber Webb all of Van; one sister, Debbie (Jim) Hopkins of Danville; niece, Trena Hopkins of Danville; and nephew, James Brian Hopkins of Charlotte, NC.; companion, Sharon Blankenship of Camp Creek; many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers. He is also survived by, on his maternal side, his aunt and uncle Emogene Bordus of Ironton, Ohio and one uncle and aunt Johnny (Sue) Hall.
