Darrell Aleshire, Jr. 72, of Danville, WV passed away on June 22, 2016. He was born December 13, 1943 to Loren Darrell and Billie Mae Aleshire of Hewett, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Jacqueline, sons Darrell W. (Windy) Aleshire of Disputanta VA, and Michael D. (Kelly) Aleshire of Chapmanville, WV, grandchildren Autumn Aleshire of Arlington, VA, Darrell W, Jr. (Ashley) Aleshire, of Colonial Heights, VA, Makayla Aleshire of Alum Creek, WV, Lauren Aleshire of Chapmanville, WV. Sisters: Dale (Guerrant) Craddock of Lake WV and Sharron R. Aleshire of Concord, NC; sister in law Darlene (Mark) McClure of Danville, brother in law Charles (Anicia) McKinney of Neola , WV; mother in law Corella Bell of Madison, nieces and nephews who he thought of as his own: Crystal (Gunnery Sgt. Jeremy) Boros of Okinawa, Japan, Sarah (Opie) Collins, of Hurricane, WV and CD (Kelsey) McKinney of Charleston and his great grandchildren, Owen Wayne and Abigail Mae Aleshire, great nieces and nephews: Cheyenne, Keira and William Boros, and Charley and Sadie Mae Collins, and many other nieces and nephews.
Darrell was a 1961 graduate of Scott High School and enlisted in the US Air Force serving from 1961 to 1964. He is a retired coal miner and mechanic and a member of the UMWA. He was a member of the Danville Church of Christ, IOOF Boone Lodge #170, and the American Legion AMVETS. He loved his home state of WV, NASCAR and the Oakland Raiders.
Service will be at Handley Funeral Home at Danville, Saturday at 2pm, visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Ministers Kenneth Mitchell, Mark Wheatley and Tom Bias will officiate. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
