David Owen Mahone

David Owen Mahone, 68, of Charleston, WV, formerly of Van, WV, passed away on February 16, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. 

He was born to Denzel Lee Mahone and Wilma Edith (Asberry) Mahone on November 02, 1956. He was retired from Casci after 28 years of service. He spent his days loving life with his partner Wayne and dog Kevin. He was a lover of his home and worked meticulously on his flowers and landscaping. In his early days, he enjoyed spending Railfan Weekend at Cass Scenic Railroad with his family. He was also a lover of the beach and fine weather. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Mahone and sister, Judy Mahone. 

He is survived by his father Denzel Mahone; his partner Wayne Davis; his nephews Mark Loud and Scott Loud; and great niece and great nephew, Sienna Loud and Archer Loud. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home Danville, WV with Rev. Tom Price officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Madison, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
