Deborah Ruth Hall, 55, of Pleasant View, WV went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was born May 5, 1963 in West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of Martha Bryant Adkins and the late Lewis Delano Adkins. She graduated from Guyan Valley High School in 1981 where she was a school leader. She was an honor student and cheered for the wildcat team. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She began her teaching career at Fez Elementary, and then taught at Hamlin Elementary for 23 years. Debbie finished her career at West Hamlin as a Title 1 teacher. Debbie loved children and teaching was her passion. Debbie was a Christian and was a member of Lincoln Baptist Church where she was baptized . Debbie loved music, playing the piano and dulcimer.
Additional survivors include her husband of 31 years, Kent; her son Cory; sisters Rhonda (Keith) McCoy, Angela (Elbie) Pritchard, and Regina (Greg) Sanders; father and mother-in-law Richard and Jacqueline Hall; sisters-in-law Kimberly (Mark) Smith, Kerri (Chris) Smith; nieces and nephews Monica, Jenny, Annie, Ashley, Jessica, Kyle and Clay; great nieces and nephews McKinlee, Madison, Ethan and Elijah; and a host of family and friends. Debbie was a caring, loving and joyous person who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 4, 2018 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin with Rev. Bob Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in the Goldsbury Cemetery, Sias, WV.
Visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
